The Earth Month 2026: Cultures of Action residency offers two artists living in Germany or France a sustainable travel experience across Scotland. Participants will visit Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cove Park, and Linkshouse - Orkney Arts Residency, engaging with environmental themes like rewilding and ocean conservation. The program includes artist talks, site visits, and optional school outreach, treating the journey itself as part of the creative process.
All travel and accommodation provided, a daily stipend of £80 GBP, a speaker's fee of £150 GBP for the Artist Talk, and additional fees for school visits (£150 per visit).
Applicants must have lived and worked in France or Germany for at least 3 years, work in time-based media or durational practices (sound, lens-based, performance), demonstrate previous engagement with climate or environmental themes, and be proficient in English.
Submit the required materials by March 11, 2026, at 23:59 GMT by sending an application in PDF format to culture-glasgow@goethe.de. Materials must include a portfolio of 3-5 previous works and a statement of interest (max 500 words).
