Paul Dresher Ensemble
Established in 2012, the D.E.A.R. program grants up to six awards annually to individual artists or collaborative groups. It provides 24/7 access to a 40' x 42' rehearsal studio and fabrication shop for 1 to 4 weeks. The residency is designed for early to mid-career artists working in time-based media, particularly those whose projects require continuous access to space and technology or work across multiple disciplines.
1 to 4 weeks of 24/7 studio access, a production stipend of up to $1500, access to state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and projection equipment, professional consultations, and performance opportunities.
The lead artist must be a Northern California resident and not a student at the time of application and residency. Priority is given to projects requiring multi-day space access and artists from culturally diverse perspectives without significant institutional support.
Submit the online application form including basic contact details, project summary (150 words), project description (1000 words), biography (500 words), work plan (500 words), and work samples via links or PDFs.
