About the Open Call

Dream Awake is seeking dynamic, brave, and emotionally intelligent performers with strong physical theatre or contemporary dance experience. Additionally, they are looking for high-level musicians (specifically violin, cello, and accordion players) with strong improvisational instincts. Selected ensemble members will join the production in Shenzhen, China. The roles involve playing specific characters such as Marcel, Natalie, Lucien, Ramona, Francois, Claudia, and musicians Jules, Sasha, and Gaby.

13-month full-time contract based in Shenzhen, China.

Requirements

Physical performers require a minimum of 3 years professional experience and must be exceptional movers. Musicians must be high-level violinists, cellists, or accordionists; accordionists require acting experience. Full-time availability for 13 months is required for all roles.

How to Apply

Submit an online application form. Physical performers must provide three videos: a 1-2 minute introduction, a 1-minute performance of a specific speech by Sophie Scholl, and recordings of show choreography (Coat Reveal and Podium 1). Musicians must provide two videos of themselves playing their instrument and a video of singing or playing an additional instrument if applicable. All videos should be shared as unlisted links via YouTube, Google Drive, or Vimeo.
