About the Open Call

Drawn In is the February 2026 Rhode Island Art League’s international juried exhibition, curated by Sarah Hardesty and Amanda Jirón-Murphy. The call invites artists to submit drawings with the broadest possible definition of the term, including traditional finished drawings, sketches, sketchbook excerpts, remnants of performance, digital artwork, and works using unorthodox materials. The exhibition seeks to expand the definition of drawing by including works that challenge notions of how drawing can be made and what it can be made of. All 2D and 3D media are eligible.

What is Offered

Cash awards: First Place ($500), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($150), and two Honorable Mentions. Opportunity for exhibition at Art League RI Gallery and art sales with a 30-40% commission.

Requirements

Open to artists 18 years and older. Submissions must include a 100-word bio, 200-word artist statement, and 1-5 artwork images. All work must be original, exhibition-ready, and for sale. Maximum size for 2D work is 60"x60"; 3D work must be within 60"x60" and under 100 lbs. Digital works must include all necessary technical equipment.
