Monmouth University
Roots & Routes asks artists to reflect on immigration and the experience of establishing roots in a new place while also highlighting the journey itself. Monmouth University is committed to creating inclusive spaces that represent all members of its community. Student artists from all backgrounds are welcomed and encouraged to submit work that reflects on identity, diversity, representation, inclusion, power, equity–or to submit work that highlights historical figures who had to fight for the space to share their ideas and work. Selected digital artwork will be printed and hung throughout Monmouth University’s buildings.
Selected digital artwork will be printed, framed, and displayed across Monmouth University's campus. Artist names and descriptions will be displayed alongside the work.
Artists must be 18 years or older and currently enrolled students in a college or university. Digital submissions must be 24” x 36”, at least 300 DPI (7200 x 10800 pixels), CMYK color mode, and in TIFF, PSD, or high-quality JPEG format.
Submit work digitally through the CaFÉ website. Artists must provide 1 to 3 images, an artwork title under 50 characters, and a description of 500 characters or less explaining how the piece relates to the immigrant experience or movement of people.
