The Ballet Nacional Chileno (BANCH) seeks a new Artistic Director to lead its artistic and technical operations, proposing programming, repertoire, and aesthetic lines. Responsibilities include developing original choreographic work, building a repertoire for 18 permanent dancers, managing tours, and promoting cultural mediation. The role involves managing artistic teams, leading casting processes, and establishing national and international strategic alliances. The selection process includes an initial evaluation, followed by interviews and the development of a detailed artistic project for the 2027 season for shortlisted candidates.
Professional remuneration commensurate with the position, social security benefits, and the opportunity to lead a prestigious national contemporary dance company with 18 permanent dancers.
Candidates must have professional experience and recognition in choreography creation and diffusion, a distinguished career in professional dance, and experience managing choreographic companies and artistic teams. Mastery of classical and contemporary dance techniques and universal ballet repertoire is required. Proficiency in English is necessary, and knowledge of Spanish is desirable (or a commitment to learn). Selected candidates must reside in Santiago, Chile.
