Maryland Federation of Art
Computer software and technology have significantly expanded artistic creation. The Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) presents its 4th annual 'Digital Explorations' exhibition, welcoming all artists from the US, Canada, and Mexico. Submissions should be original 2D or 3D image-based work created and/or produced through digital software, including digitally produced photography, digital painting, illustration, graphic design, digital video, and projection. Works selected will be exhibited in MFA’s Circle Gallery from January 28 – February 28, 2026. Awards totaling $1,000 will be designated by juror Andy Holtin, Professor of Extended Media at American University. There will be a Virtual Awards Ceremony on February 1, 2026, and an In-Person Reception on February 28, 2026.
Awards designated by the juror total $1,000. Artists will retain 70% from sales (75% for MFA Members). Accepted works will be exhibited in MFA’s Circle Gallery from January 28 – February 28, 2026. A Virtual Awards Ceremony and an In-Person Reception will also be held.
This opportunity is open to all artists residing in any of the states or territories of the United States, Canada, or Mexico. All entries must be original 2D or 3D image-based work created and/or produced through digital software, completed solely by the artist’s hand, and created within the past 3 years. A maximum of 6 original works may be entered. Work previously exhibited at MFA Circle Gallery is not eligible for re-entry. Maximum size of work, including edges of artwork or frame, cannot exceed 72 inches in any direction. Work must be for sale; artists retain 70% (75% for MFA Members) commission.
Online entry for submissions opens on September 23, 2025. Artists are advised to view and print the downloadable prospectus for complete exhibition guidelines and submission details. All entrants will receive notification by email on December 17, 2025, and accepted artists will also be posted on MFA’s website.
