Banff Centre
The Digital Constellations Residency offers Indigenous digital media artists, filmmakers, and animators dedicated time and a supportive environment to advance the video and audio production and post-production aspects of their projects. With guidance from faculty and support from our Media Production team, participants will refine their work, create high-quality samples, and further develop their projects throughout the program. Applicants may apply as individuals or with a collaborator. This residency provides space to experiment across production and post-production phases, including: Digital media, Narrative film, Animation. The post-production phase includes: Sound design, Audio and music recording, Color correction, Editing. The program offers: Guidance from faculty, Access to the Banff Centre media production team and spaces and studio space in the Jeanne and Peter Loughheed Building (JPL), Support from the Media & Production team, Access to the Banff Centre Library and Archives for research and knowledge-building. Participants will engage with Media Production Training: Digital Constellations 2026 professional training participants, fostering collaboration and shared learning.
Scholarship covering 100% of tuition fees, accommodation, and meal plan costs. Guidance from faculty, access to Banff Centre media production team, studio space in the Jeanne and Peter Loughheed Building (JPL), support from Media & Production team, access to Banff Centre Library and Archives, single bedroom accommodation on campus, specialized studio space, opportunities to showcase work-in-progress, group seminars/workshops, access to Paul D. Fleck Library and Archives, and campus facilities including Sally Borden Fitness and Recreation Centre (swimming pool, climbing gym, fitness equipment) and Box Office Discounts.
Applicants must be Indigenous digital media artists, filmmakers, or animators working in the production or post-production phases of their project, seeking support from Banff Centre facilities. Applicants may apply as individuals or with a collaborator. Applicants must be 18 years or older at the time of the program start date. Domestic and international applications are welcome; accepted international participants must obtain a Visitor Visa to enter Canada as Banff Centre programs do not meet Canadian Student Visa eligibility.

Step 3: Upload Your Materials, including a one-page resume or C.V., a 500-word or 3-minute video cover letter, a 1000-word project proposal, a resource request form, and up to 5 samples of recent artistic work for your portfolio. Be sure to complete the Financial Aid question in SlideRoom to be eligible for financial assistance. For group applications, the lead applicant completes Step 1, pays a $65 processing fee, and completes Step 3. An additional $35 registration fee will be added for each group member upon acceptance.
