MTA Arts & Design
The MTA Arts & Design Digital Art program seeks to introduce new media artists to public spaces and the MTA’s diverse ridership. Artists are invited to submit previous digital artworks for consideration for sites at Fulton Transit Center, Grand Central Madison, and Moynihan Train Hall for 2027. The program supports multi-channel installations including video art, film, animation, augmented reality, net art, game engines, and generative art. Finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium to develop site-specific proposals. Selected works will be up to two minutes in length and on display for approximately three months. Applicants must have a valid U.S. Taxpayer Identification Number.
Selected finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium to develop site-specific proposals for 2027 programming. Project budgets for production and installation will be determined based on the nature of the project.
Artists must demonstrate proficiency in digital, moving image, and new media. Artists working in other mediums must explain technical expertise or provide evidence of collaboration with technical partners. Applicants must hold a valid U.S. Taxpayer Identification Number.
Apply online via the Submittable platform by submitting up to 5 completed works in digital format (.mov or .mp4), up to 10 still images (.jpg or .png), a bio, CV, and a brief artist statement.
