About the Open Call

The Deakin University Contemporary Small Sculpture Award, established in 2009, invites submissions from Australian artists. A panel shortlists approximately 40 finalists for an exhibition held at the Deakin University Art Gallery. Winners are selected for the Acquisitive First Prize, Emerging Sculptors Award, Highly Commended, and a People's Choice award.

What is Offered

Winning works are considered for the Deakin University Art Collection; prize money includes $15,000 for the First Prize, $5,000 for the Emerging Sculptors Award, $3,000 for Highly Commended, and $3,000 for People's Choice.

Requirements

Works must be free-standing; wall-mounted works are not eligible. Size and weight restrictions apply. Limit of three entries per person/joint entrant.
