About the Open Call

Established in 2013, the Fellowship extends the Library’s long tradition of fostering transatlantic exchange and creative expression. Each year, two Visiting Fellows and three Scholars of Note pursue their projects in Paris while contributing to the Library’s cultural life through public talks and workshops. The 2026-2027 theme is 'Letters Home', exploring geographical, cultural, linguistic, political, or emotional distance.

What is Offered

A residency in Paris for work on individual projects and participation in the Library's cultural life through public talks and workshops.

Requirements

Open to writers, thinkers, and scholars across disciplines. Fellows must present a public program engaging with the annual theme.
