Tictac Art Centre
This 24-day workshop offers an intensive learning practice aimed at achieving deep knowledge of performing improvisation, guided by David Zambrano. Students will learn to use their life experience, consciously and continuously shape their energy, integrating body and mind, time and space through dance improvisation. The goal is to enable students to create instant dance pieces onstage in front of an audience, starting with solos, duets, and small groups. Zambrano pushes students to realize that there is always something more inside and that performing is spontaneous. This workshop will be assisted by Florian Vuille. David Zambrano has been a monumental figure in the international dance community for more than 40 years, and his passion for cultural exchange continues to influence his work. He brings together artists from all over the planet for his projects, has taught his own approach to dance in more than 75 countries, and has performed at hundreds of venues worldwide. His pieces range from set choreography, structured improvisation, and pure improvisation. Born in Venezuela, Zambrano spent 15 years in New York and now lives in between Amsterdam and Brussels. The workshop dates are January 5 - 31. Times are Mondays to Fridays: 10:00 – 13:00 and 14:30-17:30, and Saturdays: 14:00 -16:00 including Crude Saturdays from 18:00-20:00.
