Michigan Legacy Art Park
Inspired by the work of artist David Barr, Michigan Legacy Art Park offers residency programs to provide artists with time, space, support, and inspiration. The primary program is a two-week residency with lodging and a $1500 stipend, while local non-lodging residencies offer a $500 stipend. Residents are invited to use the 31-acre forested park as their studio and source of inspiration, creating works that may be ephemeral or permanent. The program is specifically supported by the Charles McGee Art Fund to foster the next generation of sculptors.
Fall residency with lodging includes a 14-day stay and a $1500 stipend. Local residency includes a $500 stipend. Both offer studio access to the 31-acre park and networking opportunities.
The residency is open to emerging artists, defined as those at the beginning of their career with a modest independent body of work. Applicants must submit a portfolio, artist statement, CV, and a detailed proposal.
Submit a single PDF file titled lastname_firstname.pdf to info@michlegacyartpark.org. The PDF must include a letter of proposal (addressing specific prompts), artist statement, CV or Resumé, pertinent links, a portfolio of 10 to 20 high-resolution images or files, and three references.
