About the Open Call

Blekinge Dansresidens is an inviting place where artists are invited to explore and focus. A space for sensitivity and nuance, a moving place in dialogue with the surroundings. The residency encourages being in the yet unknown, following intuition, and creating something previously untested rather than presenting finished works. Experienced artists as well as recent graduates, national and international applicants are welcome. The residency is run by Dans i Blekinge and takes place at Massmanska Kvarnen in Ronneby, ending with a showing during Brådjupa, Blekinge Dance Festival.

What is Offered

Fee of 35,000 SEK (invoice) or 26,632 SEK (gross salary) per artist/group; travel reimbursement up to 5,000 SEK per artist/group; free studio time; accommodation at a hostel/B&B or Airbnb; daily training; feedback sessions; and a residency showing.

Requirements

Artists are expected to lead daily training during parts of the residency, participate in an open rehearsal for the public, take part in a residency showing at the Brådjupa festival, participate in an artist talk, and consent to being filmed and photographed.
