About the Open Call

ON SITE is the first residency programme within the context of Hypertextile 2027, the first edition of a biennial textile art festival in the Alentejo region. The festival invites a reflection on textiles as a way of (re)interpreting the place and discovering Arraiolos through contemporary art. Five artists will explore the heritage, landscape, textile practices, and local history of Arraiolos to create site-specific works for the biennial.

What is Offered

Participation grant, accommodation, access to workspace and equipment, travel and production support, curatorial guidance, transport and insurance of artworks for the exhibition, and inclusion in the festival catalogue.

Requirements

Visual or textile artists over the age of 25 of any nationality and artistic discipline. Previous experience in textiles is not required.
