About the Open Call

The Creston Arts Artist in Residency program provides artists with living and working space in Creston, Iowa. Selected artists stay at a fully furnished apartment located at 107 N. Maple Street and can request studio space. The program is flexible in duration, offering residencies for a weekend, a week, a month, or three months. A core requirement of the residency is the delivery of at least one workshop or demonstration for the public. The application process requires information about the artist's medium, current work, and expectations for the program, alongside a proposal for their community engagement component.

What is Offered

Fully furnished residence at the Creston Arts apartment, studio space available upon request, and reimbursement or purchase of supplies for the required workshop.

Requirements

Open to artists at any stage of their career. Applicants must be able to lead a workshop or demonstration (minimum 3 participants) and provide their own transportation to Creston, IA. Submission of 2-10 artwork images is required.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete the online application form on the Creston Arts website, which includes providing an artist bio, describing their mediums and current work, proposing a workshop/demonstration, and uploading 2-10 photos of their artwork.
