Oxford Cotswold Archaeology
Oxford Cotswold Archaeology (OCA) are funding two creative commissions, inspired by the archaeological discoveries along the A66 corridor. Proposals are sought from creatives working across a range of disciplines who have a socially engaged practice and are excited to collaborate with local communities. The commissions form part of a wider programme of archaeological community engagement being delivered across the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine project. The project is particularly interested in work that engages meaningfully with refugees and asylum seekers or young people and must culminate in a public-facing element such as an event, performance, or artwork.
Two commissions are available with a total budget of £9,650 each, consisting of an £8,250 artist fee, £1,000 materials budget, and £400 travel allowance. Specialists support from OCA staff and site access are also provided.
Applicants must have a socially engaged practice and be able to collaborate with local communities, specifically refugees, asylum seekers, or young people. Creatives must deliver a public-facing element by August 31, 2026.
To apply, download the Creative Commission Information Pack and the application form from the official website. Completed forms should be submitted as per the instructions in the pack. Questions can be directed to community@oxfordarchaeology.com.
