Create Ireland
Managed by Create on behalf of the Arts Council, the Artist in the Community (AIC) Scheme offers funding to artists from any artform to work collaboratively with communities. The scheme includes several strands: Research and Development Awards (with or without mentoring), Recent Graduate Research and Development Awards, and Project Realisation Awards. The program is highly competitive, and Create provides significant advisory support, including information sessions and one-on-one clinics, which have historically correlated with higher success rates for applicants.
Funding for research, development, and project realization, plus access to mentorship and advisory support.
Artists must demonstrate a collaborative practice with communities. Mentors must be arts professionals relevant to the field. Applicants are encouraged to engage with Create for advice at least 3 weeks before the deadline.
Applicants must download the relevant application pack (available in English and Irish) from the Create Ireland website and follow the submission instructions via the online application form. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to attend an information session or an advisory clinic before applying.
