CreArt 3.0 OPEN CALL: ARTIST IN RESIDENCE IN REGENSBURG – 19th January to 15th February

About the Open Call

CreArt (Network of Cities for Artistic Creation) is a European network promoting visual arts. This open call is for an Artist in Residence in Regensburg, a city in Bavaria, Germany, known for its medieval town centre and university population. The City of Regensburg's Cultural Office launched the RAiR - Regensburg Arts in Residence program, offering one of two newly renovated studio apartments in a historic house in Regensburg's old town, directly on the Stone Bridge. These apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and a living/working studio area. Artists will share an additional 30 square meter space with a kitchenette and bathroom. The residency period is from January 19th, 2026, to February 15th, 2026 (4 weeks). Artists are expected to engage with Regensburg citizens through participatory activities like workshops, performances, or happenings, with project proposals including such ideas. An artist talk is also planned during the residency, taking place in the shared space. Eligible artists must be born or resident in one of the cities in the project network (Kaunas, Liepaja, Skopje, Aveiro, Valladolid, Lublin, Venice, Clermont-Ferrand, Rouen, České Budějovice, Oulu), be a member of HDLU (Croatian Association of Visual Artists), or be Ukrainian artists through collaboration with Public Organisation Lviv Artistic Council «Dialogue».

What is Offered

Free accommodation in a charming, freshly renovated studio apartment. Shared space with another Artist-in-Residence. A grant of 1000 € per month, plus a refund up to max. 400 € for material and production costs, and a refund up to max. 400 € for travel costs.

Requirements

The artist must engage with the citizens of Regensburg through participatory activities such as workshops, performances, or happenings. The project proposal must include ideas involving the City of Regensburg. An artist talk is planned. All activities should take place in the shared space. Applicants must be born or resident in one of the CreArt project network cities (Kaunas, Liepaja, Skopje, Aveiro, Valladolid, Lublin, Venice, Clermont-Ferrand, Rouen, České Budějovice, Oulu), be a member of HDLU (Croatian Association of Visual Artists), or be Ukrainian artists collaborating with Public Organisation Lviv Artistic Council «Dialogue».
