About the Open Call

We invite you to write or send us a recipe! We are compiling a collection of shared recipes by artists and creatives for an upcoming publication. As a collaboration we are interested in the intimacy of connecting over meals, how a method of cooking or the significance of ingredients shapes our sense of self, bonding us to others and affecting how we navigate through the world. As part of this we are thinking about how sharing a recipe is a way to encounter and understand another person. We would love to meet you through your recipe. Tell us any recipe with significance to you, elaborate or simple, meaningful or casual. It could be your in-studio quick bite, a hyperfixation, special occasion, childhood favorite or your dinner party centerpiece! We welcome additional descriptions, stories and contexts. We would also love to know how the recipe exists for you: is it in a cookbook, on your notes app, written on a scrap of paper or just in your mind? Feel free to send us documentation of how it’s recorded, as well as photos of the dish itself. We are planning for a quarterly publication that includes approximately 10 recipes, so if you don’t see yours this time please submit again for our next one! Note: Not all information will be published, such as contact details. Let us know if you would like anything else to remain private.

What is Offered

Inclusion in an upcoming quarterly publication of shared recipes by artists and creatives.

Requirements

Applicants must submit their recipe (digital or physical) along with their name and the title of the dish. Optional submissions include contact details, further descriptions, images/audio/film, and documentation related to the recipe.
