This flexible residency program supports artists seeking creative immersion and community connection. Artists may request: Housing residencies in heritage homes (Baldwin House or Eagles Estate) Studio residencies in dedicated arts spaces Combined housing & studio residencies Production or partner residencies (by invitation) Residencies may range from 2 to 8 weeks, with typical offerings of short-term studio use or longer immersive periods, depending on artist needs and availability.
Professional artists of any nationality can apply; priority given to local/Canadian applicants. Applicants propose a project or creative inquiry they will pursue during the residency. Artists must include community engagement ideas — such as talks, workshops, demonstrations, or public sharing events — as part of their proposal. Residency proposals are reviewed by a peer advisory committee based on artistic vision, community relevance, and feasibility. Housing residencies require that projects be compatible with shared heritage house settings (no messy/large production work in the houses). Artists commit to making full use of allocated time and space and may be expected to coordinate directly with staff for scheduling and engagement planning.
