About the Open Call

The Austin Pastel Society presents its 2026 Annual Juried Member Exhibition at A05 Gallery. The show is juried by Christine Debrosky and focuses on works created with soft pastels. The exhibition aims to showcase representational, traditional, or abstract works from its membership, with a specific award category for emerging pastel artists. All exhibited works must be available for sale.

What is Offered

Over $3,000 in Cash & Merchandise awards; inclusion in a physical exhibition at A05 Gallery; and sales opportunities with an 80/20 artist/gallery split.

Requirements

Applicants must be paid members of the Austin Pastel Society. Work must be at least 80% soft pastel (no oil pastels allowed). Artwork must be original, completed within the last two years, and not previously shown in APS or A05 Gallery exhibitions. Maximum size is 40 inches framed in any direction. All work must be for sale and ready to hang.

How to Apply

Artists must submit high-quality JPEG images of up to three works via the ShowSubmit platform. Images must be at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge and under 30MB.
