Canal Convergence seeks proposals for outdoor, temporary public artworks to be featured in, around, and suspended above the Arizona Canal at the Scottsdale Waterfront. The event will be on view for 10 days, from Nov. 6–15, 2026. The call targets light-based installations that address the theme 'Most Western.' Installations should ideally be interactive, modular, or capable of timed performances involving light, sound, or movement. Phase I focuses on proposal concepts, renderings, and estimated budgets.
Project budgets between $5,000 and $35,000 (USD).
Open to local, regional, and international artists, artist teams, architects, designers, and multimedia specialists. International artists must include a remote installation option. Proposals must be for outdoor, light-based installations requiring nighttime activation.
Review the RFP Information Packet and Site Map Information on the Canal Convergence website, then submit the proposal concept, images, rendering, and estimated total budget through the Submittable platform.
