Scottsdale Arts
Canal Convergence commissions light-based public art installations to be displayed outdoors around the canal and pathways. The festival emphasizes immersive and interactive experiences, encouraging proposals that activate the site and invite public engagement. Selected works may also be installed for an additional month beyond the festival dates.
Proposals are sought for outdoor, light-based public artworks, including but not limited to: Large-scale light installations Interactive and kinetic works Suspended or floating works above or on the canal Works incorporating movement, sound, or dynamic elements Designs that engage audiences physically or visually in both daytime and nighttime settings All work must be suitable for outdoor public installation and respond conceptually and visually to the event theme and site conditions.
Phase I Submission Deadline: Thursday, April 9, 2026 — 11:59 p.m. Arizona Time (MST). This is the first stage of a two-phase selection process.
