Call for Solo Exhibitions 2026

About the Open Call

VisArts invites artists working in all media to apply for 2026 solo exhibitions in the Gibbs Street Gallery (1,100 sq ft), Common Ground Gallery (300 sq ft), and Concourse Gallery (500 sq ft). These galleries explore the breadth of contemporary art and feature emerging to mid-career artists, reflecting a wide range of media and experimental approaches. International, national, and local artists are welcome to apply. VisArts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, a hub for artistic exploration and social impact since 1987, located in Rockville Town Square with easy access to public transportation.

What is Offered

Solo exhibitions in the Gibbs Street Gallery, Common Ground Gallery, and Concourse Gallery for 2026.

Requirements

Artists working in all media are eligible. Applicants who have participated in a solo exhibition at VisArts within the past three years are not eligible. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Specific submission formats for images and videos must be followed.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit through Submittable. Required materials include an application form, up to 10 high-resolution images (.jpg, .tiff, .png, .gif) or up to 10 minutes of film/video (.mp4, .mov) or sound/performance documentation, an artist statement (200 words max), an artist bio (200 words max), an exhibition proposal, and a Resume/CV.
