About the Open Call

The City of Olympia is seeking up to 18 loaned sculptures from Washington and Oregon state artists for temporary outdoor exhibition on Percival Landing, a waterfront park in Olympia, WA. Selected artists receive a $1,000 honorarium for the one-year loan and are eligible for the Peoples’ Prize purchase award of up to $10,000. Sculptures must be made of durable materials suitable for exterior salt-water environments, maintenance-free, and weigh under 250 lbs. Work must be able to be welded to a provided stainless steel connector plate.

What is Offered

$1,000 honorarium per loaned sculpture, potential $10,000 Peoples’ Prize purchase award, property insurance during exhibition, and on-site plaque recognition.

Requirements

Open to artists from Washington and Oregon state, 18 years or older. Sculptures must be durable, weather-resistant, and maintenance-free. Maximum weight is 250 lbs. Selected artists must obtain a Washington State Business License with a City of Olympia Endorsement.

How to Apply

Artists must apply through the CaFE website by submitting up to two entries. Each entry requires 3-5 images of a single sculpture from various angles.
