The UNESCO-Aschberg Programme, supported by Norway, aims to address structural vulnerabilities in cultural and creative industries. It offers two tracks of assistance: Track 1 provides technical assistance to governments and public institutions to design or revise laws and policies concerning the status of the artist. Track 2 provides financial assistance to civil society organizations for innovative projects that advance artistic freedom, capacity building, advocacy, and monitoring at local, national, or international levels.
Track 1 provides technical assistance for policy design; Track 2 provides financial assistance for innovative projects.
Open to governments, public institutions, and civil society organizations. Projects must focus on protecting rights like freedom of movement, social/economic rights of artists, and the right to create without censorship.
Applicants must download the correct electronic application form (Government or CSO), fill it out in English or French, attach required supporting documents, and submit the signed form via email to aschberg@unesco.org.
