Call For Entry: Lucid — In Dreams

About the Open Call

Dreams offer us a glimpse into the realm of the unconscious. Although the images flickering and manifesting behind our eyes may seem bizarre and nonsensical, analysis of one's dreams can reveal their essence. Beneath the surface of our consciousness, the latent content of dreams illustrates the hidden meaning of our thoughts, drives, and desires. We suppress the manifestation of our unconscious to defend ourselves from primitive emotions that are especially difficult to contend with. What is revealed to you as you sleep and perchance to dream? What images make you stop and ask—am I dreaming? Lucid: In Dreams is an international open call for photographers ages 18 and older. ​​​​​​​All forms of two-dimensional images, traditional and non-conventional media, and conventional or alternative photographic processes with a subjective analog or digital photographic base are welcome for submission. Selected works will be featured in The Chateau's Online Gallery (TCG) from September 1st, 2025 - October 1st, 2025.

What is Offered

Selected works will be exhibited in The Chateau's Online Gallery (TCG) from September 1st, 2025 - October 1st, 2025. Sales opportunities are available with a 30% gallery commission. Awards include Curator’s Choice, Director’s Choice (both receiving three free future entries), and three Honorable Mentions (one free future entry). Certificates of Participation are available upon request.

Requirements

International open call for photographers ages 18 and older. All forms of two-dimensional images, traditional and non-conventional media, and conventional or alternative photographic processes with a subjective analog or digital photographic base are welcome. Submissions must be original and completed by the artist’s hand; work created or altered with artificial intelligence is strictly prohibited. Cannot accept submissions from citizens residing in sanctioned countries: Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Belarus, Russia.

How to Apply

You may submit up to (3) images per entry. You may submit more than one entry. Please list your print dimensions in inches or centimeters. Please name your images in the following format: firstname_lastname_title _-_ 01.jpeg. Please upload your files with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side and a minimum size of 500kb. An entry fee of $20 is required, with merit-based and hardship fee waivers available by contacting the gallery. Submissions for fee waivers are limited.
