City of Louisville, CO
The City of Louisville, CO is seeking an artist or team of artists to design and install a sculpture that celebrates the life and accomplishments of Mary Trebing. The sculpture will be located outside in Louisville’s Memory Square Park near the Louisville Center for the Arts and Louisville Swimming Pool. The artwork will be exposed to the weather and must be made of durable materials. The commissioned artwork should consider Mary’s unique story as a female Airforce pilot (WASP) while also honoring the historical value of the space.
A commission budget of up to $30,000, which includes all costs for design, fabrication, and installation.
Open to emerging and established artists living and working in Colorado. Artwork must be durable for outdoor exposure and appropriate for a high-traffic, family-oriented public park.
Submit proposals via e-mail to Iris Belensky, Arts & Events Program Manager, at IBelensky@LouisvilleCO.gov. Proposals should include an artist resume/CV, 5-10 examples of previous sculpture work, an Artist Statement of Interest, and at least two professional references.
