About the Open Call

CICA Museum invites artists worldwide to participate in the International Exhibition 'Root Unseen 2026.' The exhibition will feature works that explore family histories, ancestral narratives, and untold stories. Artists are encouraged to submit works in various media, including photography, 2D digital art, video art, interactive art, painting, sculpture, and installation art. Selected photo and 2D digital works will be printed and framed by the museum curators. The museum also provides projectors and players for video works, while physical works must adhere to specific size and weight limitations.

What is Offered

Exhibition participation, professional curation, framing for 10x15 or 10x10 inch works, and provision of screening equipment for video art.

Requirements

Works must explore family/ancestral themes. Physical 2D works should not exceed 1m on the longest side; installation pieces must be within 1x1x2m. Wall-mounted works must not exceed 10kg. Selected artists must pay a maintenance fee of $78 USD per work.

How to Apply

Submit up to 3 direct video links and/or up to 5 JPG images (100–500 KB each) with work descriptions and a bio to submission@cicamuseum.com. The subject line should follow the format: Submission: Root Unseen 2026 – Category – Your Name.
