Bronx Council On The Arts
The Bronx Cultural Visions Fund (BCVF), supported by the Howard Gilman Foundation, is a two-stage grant opportunity designed to foster new ideas and the production of new performing arts work. The eligible categories include dance, music, theater, performance art, and multi-disciplinary performance. This initiative represents a significant investment in The Bronx’s performing arts community, with the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) committed to long-term engagement with grantees. The application process begins with a Letter of Intent (LOI), which can be submitted in written or video format via Submittable. Successful LOI applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal. Proposals are reviewed by a panel of 3-5 NYC-based performing arts professionals, who will select at least 5 awards for each category (Concept Development and Production). Evaluation criteria focus on cultural stewardship, innovation, compelling vision, technical expertise, project achievability, and potential for applicant growth. BCA emphasizes a fair, transparent, and impartial panel process, ensuring diverse representation.
Up to $10k for Concept Development or $20k for Production
Open to Bronx-based emerging and mid-career individual artists and organizations with budgets up to $250,000.
