British Science Association

£0 Application Fee

About the Open Call

The British Science Festival 2026 celebrates science in its broadest sense, showcasing cutting-edge technology and ideas that challenge and inspire. The program invites proposals for events, activities, or installations from across disciplinary backgrounds. We particularly welcome creative content that challenges perceptions of what science is and can be, utilizing participatory formats outside of traditional lecture settings. Content should be tailored to an adult (16+) audience, with a focus on non-specialist young adults (16-30) and groups underrepresented in science.

What is Offered

Limited funding is available, prioritized for freelance or unwaged practitioners and events working with underrepresented communities. Support includes event development, marketing, logistical assistance, and on-site operation support.

Requirements

Content must be tailored for an adult (16+) audience. Proposals should emphasize participatory formats and may include workshops, performances, drop-in activities, or public installations. Successful applicants are responsible for sourcing their own speakers and assistants.

How to Apply

Proposals must be submitted through the Microsoft Forms link provided on the official website. A Word copy of the form is available for preparation, but submissions must be made via the online form.
