About the Open Call

The Bobby Anspach Studios Foundation's inaugural grant program celebrates Bobby’s vision by supporting artists whose practices expand empathy, nurture connection, and respond to the ecological and social challenges of our time. We invite proposals from visual artists working across media and approaches whose work embodies this spirit. Focus areas include Environmental Consciousness & Climate Awareness, Human Connection & Empathy, and Transformative & Consciousness-Raising Practices. Open to visual artists at any career stage, working in any medium (painting, sculpture, installation, digital and new media, performance, community/social practice, craft, interdisciplinary practices, and more). International applicants and projects are eligible, but projects should demonstrate the possibility, relevance, or potential to be shared within the U.S. A public-facing or community engagement component is required.

What is Offered

Two $50,000 unrestricted grants and three $8,000 unrestricted grants.

Requirements

Open to visual artists working in any medium or approach. Artists at any career stage. Projects must engage with Environmental Consciousness & Climate Awareness, Human Connection & Empathy, or Transformative & Consciousness-Raising Practices. Individual artists and collaborations may apply, but not organizations. International applicants and projects are eligible, but must demonstrate potential to be shared within the U.S. A public-facing or community engagement component is required.
