The City of Norman is developing a Black History Plaza along the Legacy Trail to celebrate the Black community. The artwork should address the history, struggles, achievements, and vitality of the Black community in Norman. The project budget is $75,000 - $90,000. The site is a 1,000 sq ft brick plaza near a railroad track, necessitating durable, weather-resistant materials.
Commission fee of $75,000 - $90,000, plus honorariums for finalists.
Open to professional artists in the United States with experience in public art and site-specific works.
Applications must be submitted via the CaFÉ platform, including a letter of interest, resume/CV, bio/statement, three references, and 5-8 high-resolution images of previous work.
