About the Open Call

BIEFF Bucharest International Experimental Film Festival aims to promote highly innovative films and filmmakers. The program includes two short film competitions (International and National), special programs, and exhibitions featuring over 100 short films and 10 feature films. The festival fosters dialogue through Q&A sessions, director's talks, and panels. The 16th edition will take place in Bucharest from September 23 - 30, 2026.

What is Offered

Cash awards totaling EUR 4,000 and approx. EUR 20,000 in post-production services across four award categories.

Requirements

Films produced after January 2025 with a duration no longer than 45 minutes. International films must have English or Romanian subtitles. National Competition is reserved for Romanian-authored films.
