About the Open Call

Berlinale Talents is the talent development programme run by the Berlinale which selects 200 emerging filmmakers and series creators from all over the world each year to unpack the how and why of movie making. The programme includes the Berlinale Talents Lab, the Talent Project Market, and an onsite Summit with panels, discussions, and workshops. It is aimed at filmmakers, series and XR content creators working in 14 different film fields with an existing track record of work.

What is Offered

Access to discipline-specific workshops, project development labs, networking events, and travel grants for selected UK-based talents via the British Council and BFI.

Requirements

Open to filmmakers, series, and XR content creators with an existing track record of work across 14 film-related disciplines including directing, film criticism, sound design, and sales.

Applications are submitted online via the official Berlinale Talents website at www.berlinale-talents.de before the deadline of September 3, 2025, at 12:00 noon CEST.
