Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity
The Barbara Spohr Memorial Award for Photography encourages the development of Canadian contemporary photography by providing financial and creative assistance to a mid-career artist. The residency offers 24/7 access to the Crich Studio featuring private black and white analogue darkroom facilities, technical support, and $1,000 CAD in material support. The award is fully funded including accommodation and meals.

Applicants must be mid-career Canadian artists (citizens or permanent residents) with a strong body of work and 8-15 years of professional arts experience. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency with darkroom processes. Previous recipients are not eligible.
Apply via the Banff Centre website using the online form, pay the $35 application fee, and submit materials including resume, artistic statement, project proposal, technical questionnaire, and a portfolio of up to 10 images via SlideRoom.
