About the Open Call

The 5th edition of the Bangkok Art Biennale invites Southeast Asian artists working in performance art, dance, movement, theatre, spoken word, music, and sound to engage with Bangkok’s urban landscape under the theme 'Angels & Mara'. The event transforms traditional and public spaces into stages for contemporary art, exploring the tension between virtue and temptation, creation and destruction.

What is Offered

Selected artists receive curatorial guidance, international press exposure, airfare and per diem support up to 30,000 THB, up to 7 days of accommodation and insurance, and a standard artist fee of 20,000 THB.

Requirements

Open to individual performance artists, collectives, or collaborative groups of Southeast Asian nationalities only. Applicants must be at least 20 years old and work in disciplines such as live performance, dance, choreography, experimental theatre, spoken word, or sound art.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted via the BAB 2026 online portal. Required materials include an 800-word project proposal, a portfolio of past performances (up to 10 images/video links), sketches or diagrams, an artist biography, and a 1-page CV.
