Association for Public Art (aPA)
Art on the Parkway invites artists, designers, and creatives to propose a temporary public art installation for display in Philadelphia's Maja Park. The project coincides with America's Semiquincentennial celebrations in 2026 and focuses on public artworks that engage diverse perspectives and encourage mutual understanding. The selected installation must be durable for a four-month outdoor exhibit from June to October 2026.
The selected proposal receives an all-inclusive commission award of $20,000. Finalists receive a $250 honorarium. Insurance costs for permitting/installation may be reimbursed up to $1,000.
Open to individuals or collaborative teams aged 21 and older who live or work in the Greater Philadelphia area (including specific counties in PA, NJ, DE, and MD). Applicants must demonstrate the ability to execute public projects of this scale. Students enrolled in degree programs are not eligible.
Applicants must submit their proposal via Jotform by 11:59 p.m. EDT on March 6, 2026. The submission requires a project proposal (300 words), conceptual design sketches, a project budget, a resume/CV, and up to six images of recent work.
