The Artist and the Others
This two-week residency is aimed at visual artists with parental responsibilities who live in Munich or elsewhere in Europe. It offers a flexible, supportive programme specifically designed to respond to the needs and realities of artist-parents. The residency combines individual mentoring, studio visits, and a public final presentation at HABIBI Kiosk. Selected participants receive guidance from professionals like Sascia Bailer, Heike Dempster, and Nir Altman. The programme includes workshops for portfolio revision and professional objective planning. International artists are provided with family-friendly accommodation at Halle 6.
Artist fee: €650 (incl. VAT); Production budget: €400; Parental support allowance: €600; Shared studio space at Halle 6; Private double room for international artists (child-safe); Travel budget: €350; Individual and group mentoring.
Applicants must be visual artists with parental responsibilities living in Munich or Europe. They are expected to participate in scheduled activities and realize their project within the defined residency period. A clear project proposal and artist statement are required.
