Artist Performance Residencies

About the Open Call

The Barrow Group’s Artist Performance Residencies support artists in bringing new work into the room. Designed to remove barriers and foster creative exploration, these residencies provide the space, resources, and support artists need to share work-in-progress with an audience. Residencies may culminate in a reading, scene sharing, or small-scale production—offering artists the opportunity to explore, refine, and deepen their work in a generous, process-driven environment. Selected artists receive access to a TBG studio for rehearsals and up to one or two public sharings, a dedicated TBG staff liaison for planning and support, and front-of-house assistance for public events.

Requirements

NYC-based theater artists; actors, directors, playwrights, and collaborators; artists working on original or self-generated projects.

Applications are reviewed and curated by TBG staff on a rolling basis. Please check the website after August 2026 for submission instructions.
