art quarter budapest’s International Artist-in-Residence program hosts disciplines such as Visual arts, Performing arts, Music and sound art, Literature and literary translation, Illustration and design, and Art theory, curatorial and art management. The program offers all entering participants a fully furnished room within a communal apartment located on the aqb premises, as well as a studio space catering to the project’s requirements. Varied services are offered to integrate residents into the local art scene and assist in establishing professional connections. aqb personnel provide assistance with practical needs related to life in Budapest and obtaining necessary materials. The residency program also offers possibilities for interdisciplinary cooperation. Additional opportunities include meetings and lectures with Hungarian curators and art critics, and mediation in organizing exhibitions and presentations at aqb and other institutions in Budapest. The duration of the residency is 1 to 3 months, available between January 1 to December 31, 2026. The deadline for applications is 30 November 2025. The participation fee for the program is EUR 950 per month, which contributes to the maintenance and operation of the institution. There are no restrictions concerning citizenship, race, gender, or age for the International Artist-in-Residence Program. Basic knowledge of English, open-mindedness, and good communication skills are welcome.

Applicants must submit a professional CV, portfolio, project description, a statement on the relevance of Budapest/Hungary to their project, and a completed application form.
