Museum London is seeking a creative, organized Artist Educator passionate about inspiring children ages 6–12 through art and learning. The ideal candidate embraces diverse needs, builds confidence, and creates unforgettable “I made this!” moments. Artist Educators thrive on the energy of working with kids, take pride in crafting meaningful experiences, and find joy in nurturing creativity, skill development, and a lifelong love of discovery. Their approach sparks curiosity and imagination through dialogue, hands-on activities, and play.Scope of Work: Plan and facilitate dynamic, age-appropriate art lessons that encourage skill development, self-expression, creative thinking, and fun. Introduce children to a range of art materials, techniques, and processes, encouraging experimentation and creative confidence. Deliver art activities that are adaptable to meet developmental needs across the full age range of 6–12-years. Maintain a safe and welcoming studio space where every child feels included and inspired. Encourage curiosity and kindness while fostering self-expression, collaboration, and respect. Delegate tasks to assistants and volunteers in prepping projects and maintaining a well-organized studio environment. Follow a pre-established daily schedule that balances structured art-making with breaks, meals, and outdoor time throughout the day. Provide a detailed course outline two weeks in advance for review and approval. Working within a budget, source and purchase activity supplies, ensuring they are non-toxic and meet the safety standards for use by children ages 6–12.

What is Offered

The hourly rate is $25/hour.

Requirements

Experience working with children ages 6–12 in educational, community, museum, or creative studio settings. Bachelors of Education or Bachelors of Fine Arts preferred. Strong knowledge of art materials and techniques. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and accessible learning practices. Energetic, detail-oriented, resourceful, and flexible approach to teaching and planning. Interest in or experience developing interdisciplinary connections through art and history. Interest in or experience with STEAM education. Must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check that is less than 12 months old. Preference will be given to candidates with First Aid CPR (Level C) and High Five Certification.
