Estuary Festival
The ARISE Engagement Intervention is a research programme funded by UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) linked to Estuary Festival. Five commissions are available: four for specific coastal locations and one overarching commission. Artists will engage with local residents through 'coffee chats' and 'World Café' events to inform artworks that address climate change, coastal erosion, and local economic shifts. Artworks must be community-driven and site-specific, with a format that can be physical, digital, audio, or storytelling.
Artist fees of £2,112 or £2,464; £2,000 production budget; £200 workshop budget; travel/subsistence; and curatorial support.
Artists or collectives must have experience in socially engaged, participatory, or community-based practice and be able to work in selected coastal communities in South East and East England.
Read the full artist brief online and apply via the Jotform (https://form.jotform.com/estuaryfestival/ARISE-application). Applicants must provide a bio, description of practice, statement of interest, and five work examples.
