Art Prize 2025: Celebrating Innovation in Art

About the Open Call

The Beyond Future Art Prize celebrates artists who are blending traditional techniques with emerging tools, especially those exploring the creative possibilities of AI. This is not a prize for fully AI-generated art, but a celebration of artists staying true to their craft while embracing the future. The theme for 2025 is 'Tradition, Technology and Transformation', inviting artists to explore how new tools like AI can open up fresh directions in their traditional practice. Artists worldwide, aged 15 or above, who primarily work in traditional or physical media (painting, drawing, printmaking, analog photography, mixed media) and are beginning to incorporate AI tools to assist in their creative process (idea development, composition, reference generation, experimentation) are eligible. Original artworks showing how traditional processes blend with new technologies, reflecting personal transformation and thoughtful use of AI, are sought. Fully AI-generated artworks with minimal or no human involvement are not accepted. Judging criteria include originality, novelty, technical mastery, and the message conveyed, considering international contemporary art features.

What is Offered

Winner: Cash Prize HK$10,000, Trophy and Physical Certificate. 1st Runner-Up: Cash Prize HK$6,000 and Physical Certificate. 2nd Runner-Up: Cash Prize HK$4,000 and Physical Certificate. 3rd Runner-Up: Cash Prize HK$3,000 and Physical Certificate. 4th Runner-Up: Cash Prize HK$2,000 and Physical Certificate. Top 20 finalists: Digital Certificate.

Requirements

Open to artists worldwide, aged 15 or above, who work primarily in traditional or physical media (painting, drawing, printmaking, analog photography, mixed media). Applicants should be starting to explore AI tools to assist in some part of their creative process (idea development, composition, reference generation, or experimentation). Submissions must be original artworks blending traditional processes with new technologies, reflecting personal transformation and thoughtful use of AI. Fully AI-generated artworks with minimal or no human involvement, or art simply created using a prompt and generator without an artist’s touch, are not accepted.

How to Apply
