Women's Studio Workshop
The Art-in-Education (AIE) Workspace Residency is for artists interested in working with local school students while creating their own work in WSW's supportive environment. Resident artists must be able to teach intaglio, silkscreen, or hand papermaking. They are welcome to use WSW's studios, which include intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screenprinting, darkroom photography, and ceramics. Spring residencies last seven weeks and involve teaching elementary or middle school students, while Fall residencies last six weeks and involve teaching high school students. The award includes compensation for teaching and prep, housing, and 24/7 studio access.
A stipend of $175 per teaching day, $525 for lesson planning and studio prep, on-campus housing, 24/7 studio access, and a studio intern as a teaching assistant.
Artists must have the ability to teach intaglio, silkscreen, or hand papermaking. Application requires a resume, project description, 10 work samples, and an image script.
Applications open on February 15 and are due on May 15. Applicants must submit a current resume, a 500-word project description (including teaching experience and studio preference), ten images of recent work, and an image script via the online application portal.
