About the Open Call

Art Birmingham, now in its 45th year, takes place on the streets surrounding Shain Park in downtown Birmingham. Produced by the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC) and The Guild of Artists & Artisans, this highly respected event showcases jury-selected artists in fine art and fine craft disciplines. The fair is a Mother's Day tradition that offers professional and respectful staff, extensive advertising, artist awards, and a hospitality tent.

What is Offered

Exhibition space, artist awards, social media highlights, artist hospitality (coffee, snacks), booth sitters, overnight security, and artist listing with links on the event page.

Requirements

All work must be original designs executed by the artist. Artificial Intelligence (AI) derivative artwork is prohibited. Reproductions are limited to 25% of the booth and must be clearly marked. Artists must be present for at least 60% of the fair duration. Booth structures must be fire-retardant and fit within assigned 10x10 spaces.

How to Apply

Apply online via Zapplication. Submit four (4) work images and one (1) booth image showing three walls of the display without visible names or signage. Separate applications are required for different medium categories. A $30 non-refundable jury fee is required upon submission.
