About the Open Call

We-Che Art Residency is an independent artist-run project in Patagonia, Argentina. The program provides a retreat for artists to reflect, research, and create in a natural setting. While the residency accepts general applications year-round on a rolling basis, they are currently hosting a specific call for a 'Special Book Project' taking place in April 2026. The residency can accommodate up to four artists at a time for durations ranging from one week to two months. Note that the program does not currently support public exhibitions or workshops.

What is Offered

Accommodation, fresh bed linen and towels, electricity, heating, water, gas, local support, and official invitation letters for grant applications.

Requirements

Artists must submit an application form and project proposal. Selected artists must participate in a WhatsApp video call. A $500 USD deposit is required to secure one-month reservations. Finalists must provide copies of their passport, plane ticket, and travel insurance one month before arrival.

Download and fill the application form from the website (specific forms available for the Book Project and General application). Email the completed form to wecheresidency@gmail.com along with a PDF containing a brief project description and images of related works.
