About the Open Call

The OpenBach gallery is hosting 'MIRAGES & INSTANTANÉS', a collective exhibition dedicated to historical photographic processes, scheduled for February 2026. This exhibition aims to celebrate the rich and inventive practice of photographic development, which transcends simple image reproduction and intersects with multiple disciplines like painting, collage, and photography. It offers a unique exploration ground for artists combining traditional know-how with contemporary experimentation. Eligible techniques include: Cyanotype, Argentic colorized, Chemigram, Bichromated gum, Wet collodion, Platinum palladium, Heliography, Calotype, Cyano lumen, Orotone, Lith print, Lumen print, Anthotype, Tintype, Ambrotype, Argentype, Kallitype, Photopolymer plate, among others. The opportunity is open to all artists exploring these historical processes, with one artwork per artist, free format, framed in black or unframed. Selected artists will receive a catalog, participate in a vernissage and events throughout February, and compete for a public prize. Selected artists are required to join the OpenBach association (30 € annually), and the association takes a 30% commission on artwork sales.
