Arcadian Gallery
This annual competition invites artists and photographers with a connection to the Appalachian region to submit original work depicting nature and environment from any Appalachian state. A panel of jurors — including art and photography professionals — will review submissions and select pieces for the in-person exhibition and associated events. Purposes of the competition include promoting regional artistic talent, fostering appreciation of Appalachian nature, and supporting conservation through gallery sales contributions.
Open to artists and photographers age 18+ who reside in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or Washington, DC. Art must be eligible two-dimensional work (no sculpture/3D). Entries must be submitted digitally via the Arcadian Gallery’s online entry system by the deadline. Artists may submit up to 10 entries; an entry fee of $15 per piece applies and fees are non-refundable. Entries must be framed and ready to hang if accepted for exhibition. A portion of gallery commissions from sales (10%) will be donated to a conservation cause chosen by the jurors.
